Salmon, Scott Rivers receding from extreme high levels
Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS river flow gauges in California
High streamflows found all over the North Coastal Region 1 were coming down as of our last report, even so, the majority of rated monitoring stations in the northwest record water levels much above seasonal normal. Siskiyou, Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity, Mendocino and Sonoma Counties are experiencing the higher water levels with four extreme high flows remaining fro yesterday, down from fourteen stations reporting 99th percentile values in our last report. Water levels in the Salmon, Scott Rivers continue to decline. Refer to the map on the front page, high flow details are tagged with blue.
Partly cloudy and 45 degrees at Visalia Municipal airport, the Hanford-San Joaquin local forecast office projects a high 54 with decreasing clouds this afternoon. The New Year rolls in with dense fog, mainly after 3 am. San Francisco watershed can expect a bright sunny day, high 56. Tonight, partly cloudy for the New Year celebrations, low temp 46. Los Angeles watershed looking at 49 degrees with patchy dense fog, clearing off to a sunny day, high 63. Mist for San Diego watershed, currently 55 degrees with patchy fog, clearing this afternoon for a sunny day with a high 62. Patchy fog will come in around 10 pm, just in time to cloak the arrival of 2025.
