Flooding, extreme high flows continue in North Coast watershed Region 1

Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS river flow gauges in California
Colgan Creek had ducked back in the channel near Sebastopol before 5 pm on Friday, just to flood again this morning. The water level peaked around 1030 am in minor flood stage, still flooding at the time of this report. The water is steadily receding, there are still dozens of extreme high flows registering in the creeks and rivers all over the north coast region, updates are in progress. See the black tag on the front page map for the location of the single flood event.

WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON...

West winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph in the East Bay and San Francisco Bay Shoreline, The Marin Hills, Western Sonoma County Hills, The Santa Cruz Mountains, San Francisco, Coastal North Bay Including Point Reyes National Seashore, and San Francisco Peninsula Coast.

Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. The combination of wind and moist soils will increase the risk for downed trees.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.
