Petroleum spill from vessel capsized off San Diego coast

An unattended vessel adrift for several days off the San Diego coast has run up on the rocks and overturned, releasing an unknown amount of petroleum. The incident was reported yesterday as occuring in the vicinity of Cabrillo Memorial Drive.

Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS river flow gauges in California
Partly sunny, high 56 at Visalia Municipal Airport in the Hanford-San Joaquin local forecast office of the NWS. A 30 percent chance of rain tonight, mainly after 4am with patchy fog before 7. Saturday is setting up for a 90% chance of rain between 10am and 4pm.

Streamflows run normal to above normal statewide with below normal to much below normal flows in the south. The Amargosa River in Lahontan waterhsed has improved, no longer flowing low, today rated much below normal. The drought rating remains extreme along the Amargosa channel in southeast Inyo County. Colorado River watershed continues to run below normal on the drought map through San Bernardino, Riverside and Imperial Counties.
