North Coast watershed region streamflows improving
Streamflow Situation from the network of USGS monitoring sites in California
Streamflows are up significantly in the North Coast watershed region 1 Thursday, above seasonal normal through Del Norte and Humboldt Counties. Central Valley watershed region 5 runs seasonal normal levels with the exception of Sacramento River, the water levels all along the river maintained at below seaonal normal by planned releases from the impoundments. Mostly sunny today, high 64 at Hanford-San Joaquin. Streamflows continue to run normal through San Francisco Bay region, spiking above the 90th percentile in Los Angeles watershed region 4 down through San Diego watershed Region 9. Colorado River basin watershed region 7 continues to run mostly seasonal normal water levels with lower than seasonal controlled releases on the New River and Colorado River. The drought map has eased off again for a second day in a row, Riverside and Imperial Counties in Region 7 Colorado Basin no longer rated on the drought map. A significant portion of the northern counties remain below normal including Siskiyou, Modoc, Shasta and Lassen Counties.
