Moderate drought in Central Valley, north Coast
Another clear, sunny day at Visalia Municipal Airport, no hazardous weather in the forecast. Helene has ravaged Florida and Georgia since slamming into the Gulf Coast around 8 pm PDT last night, Category 4 Hurricane with sustained wind speed above 140 mph. Slowing over land, the storm system has caused flooding and wind damage effects with loss of life and tremendous environmental and property damage.
As of the latest local statement issued for Florida Gulf Coast by the National Weather Center, Tropical Storm Helene has exited Georgia leaving widespread flooding, see black tags on the Georgia map for flood details, here.
No impacts expected for California.
